Invisible Ink

One of the first versions of cryptology or more stenography was the use of invisible inks. Often times common inks were used and the main way of decoding them was to the parchment or item the ink was on. Once the heat was applied, the message would be revealed. This is such a simple process but was very effective and still is today.

  1. It is still used today. In fact, one of my best friends from home and I used to joke about writing secret invisible messages to each other. Best part about it is, she found pens that they sell that are invisible ink. So now we can send letters to each other and it is in invisible ink. The top of the pens has a light that brings color to the ink. This allows her and I to write letters and nobody else can read them. The pathetic part about it is that no one would ever try to read our letters so there is no reason to have it. But I am still enough of a kid to enjoy it.
